KABVIS (Mathilde Geens) is a design studio based in Ghent that focusses on visual and narrative creations mostly in an art or cultural context. KABVIS wishes to act as a companion and inspire from the first thinking process until the actual making and implementation. KABVIS wants its projects to be designed in a clear voice, always content-driven and in close collaboration with artists and thinkers. The work of KABVIS is characterized by careful thought and embraces the element of surprise and play.

 

KABVIS started in 1995 as a graphic design studio named KAB. Mathilde Geens with clients in the governmental and cultural field and was active as a creative director for several publicity agencies in Europe. Since 2008 the studio developed into a more overall approach of projects where strong concepts and content have a key role. Today KABVIS is asked for graphic design (posters, books, branding and logo design…), to write stories and scripts for film, multimedia (AR, VR, audioguides, installations,…) and books, for scenography and exhibition design, to make illustrations and do the creative direction of publicity campaigns.

 

KABVIS has a specific interest in making creations for children at the intersection of art, culture, design, play and education. Creations that aim to challenge and inspire children, in games, stories, installations, books and scenographies. It founded the webshop www.dewereldvanvos.be specific for games for children parties at home.
